Standing committees and ad hoc committees are an important part of NACAC’s leadership structure and are vital to its success. Members lend their expertise to the issues, programs, and governance that keep the association current and strategic in serving its members, the profession, and students.
- NACAC's three standing committees are: Admission Practices, Finance, and Governance and Nominating. Typically these committees include seven NACAC voting members who are selected and approved by the board of directors to serve up to a three-year term. The chairs serve up to a two-year term.
- Ad hoc committees are convened to address specific tasks within a defined timeline.Currently, four ad hoc committees and one commission are active. They are listed below.
- Other committees include the Rising Star Award Committee.
Two recently completed committees are the Ad Hoc Committee on Governance Restructuring and the Ad Hoc Committee on Leadership in College Admission.
