NACAC is pleased to present HBCU Advance, a forum for college admission counseling professionals to explore the unique advantages and challenges specific to HBCUs.

Building off the success of the HBCU Roundtable session at NACAC Conference 2023, the goal of HBCU Advance is to elevate successful practices of HBCUs that can help scale equity goals.

This event is open to all college admission counseling professionals who work at HBCUs or who are interested in learning more about these institutions.

Project / Program Goals

  1. Identify institutional unique advantages and challenges specific to HBCU admission offices.
  2. Identify opportunities and successful practices employed by HBCU admission offices.
  3. Identify ways in which HBCU admission offices can be effectively supported by institutions.
  4. Provide opportunities for professional learning and networking among HBCU Advance attendees to facilitate best practices and cultivate professional pathways to enhance relationships between like-minded attendees and organizations.
  5. Identify HBCU best practices that can be shared with other postsecondary institutions to improve equity outcomes nationally.
