Sean Robins
Director of Advocacy

Sean Robins is a policy leader and education advocate focused on removing barriers and expanding opportunity for students. His work centers on strengthening systems, shaping policy, and advancing reforms that make education more accessible, equitable, and effective.

As director of advocacy at NACAC, he leads federal and state advocacy strategy, engages with Congress and federal agencies, and works alongside national partners to advance policies that support college access, affordability, and student success. He also provides policy analysis and guidance to NACAC’s 28,000 members who are navigating an evolving legal and regulatory landscape.

Sean began his career teaching adult-based education programs before moving into roles that support students navigating college and career pathways. He later transitioned into policy leadership spanning the education continuum — from early childhood through postsecondary education.

A first-generation college graduate, Sean’s personal journey informs his commitment to ensuring that all students — regardless of background — have access to high-quality education, mentorship, and clear pathways to achieve their goals. He holds a Master of Education in Education Policy and Leadership from American University (D.C.) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Furman University (SC).
