The 1,800 You Turn Away: AI Pathway Matching for Denied Applicants
1:15-2:00 p.m. ET
At one rapidly growing community college, 2,000 students apply to a nursing program with 200 seats — leaving 1,800 applicants who receive a denial and no realistic next step. This session demonstrates a working AI pathway-matching tool that reads a denied applicant’s transcript, goals, and career interests, then surfaces three to five alternative programs with match rationale and labor-market alignment — routed to a human counselor for review before anything reaches the student. We’ll walk through the live build, the human-in-the-loop approval design that keeps counselors in control, and the FERPA and data-access questions institutions must answer before deploying anything like it. Attendees will leave with a replicable framework for turning denial decisions into redirected enrollment rather than lost students.

Supercharging Your CRM to Surface Admission & Enrollment Insights
3:15-3:30 p.m. ET
As AI tools rapidly expand across college admissions, much attention has focused on chatbots and automated outreach. But the next frontier is using AI to help admissions teams better understand applicants, families, and the signals that shape enrollment decisions. This session explores how emerging AI tools can integrate into CRMs, like Slate, to synthesize application materials, interpret signals from students and parents, and surface meaningful insights that support holistic review and recruitment strategy. Rather than replacing admissions judgment, these technologies aim to give teams deeper context and clarity across the enrollment funnel. Participants will leave with practical examples of how AI can augment admissions workflows and improve decision-making at scale.
