Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration has developed resources designed to support school counselors, K-12 educators, and college counselors working with mixed-status and undocumented families. These tools provide timely information, policy clarity, and community support to help educators and counselors advocate for students and expand access to higher education.
FAFSA resources for supporting mixed-status families from the Higher Ed Immigration Portal:
- FAFSA Hub for Mixed-Status Families
- Data Protections for FAFSA Information
- Messaging Guide for Counselors
- Financial Aid Options for Non-Tax-Filing Families
The Higher Ed Immigration Portal is a platform that integrates data, policy analysis, and resources to support DACA and undocumented, refugee, other immigrant, and international students. It is a long-term, strategic project of the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration. Please contact Corinne Kentor, Senior Manager of Research and Policy, with any questions.
College Corner: A Space for K-12 College Counselors Supporting Undocumented Students
The Presidents’ Alliance, along with ImmSchools, Breakthrough Central Texas, and FirstGenEmpower, launched College Corner in 2025, a new initiative designed specifically for K-12 educators and college counselors supporting undocumented students and their families. College Corner provides timely policy updates, targeted resources, and a professional network for educators and counselors to collaborate and develop strategies to help undocumented students access college pathways.
To complement these meetings, the College Corner Hub on the Higher Ed Immigration Portal offers policy guidance, scholarship information, and additional tools for K-12 educators and counselors. See the hub here.
