Thank you for considering submitting a proposal for inclusion in the 2024 GWI conference. Your participation champions the needs of diverse students during the college admission process!

NACAC is accepting proposals that focus on multicultural recruitment, campus inclusion, and other DEI topics pertinent to secondary, postsecondary, CBO college admission/counseling professionals.

* Please note: If you would like your session to be considered for the NACAC Conference 2024 in Los Angeles, you will need to submit a separate proposal application*

  • Tuesday, November 14: GWI Call for Proposals opens
  • Wednesday, November 15, 1 pm (EST): Webinar on Proposal Submission Process Register Here
  • Tuesday, February 20, 12:00pm: GWI Call for Proposals closes
  • Wednesday, February 21 – Friday, March 15: Submissions are reviewed
  • March 29: Notifications are sent out/posted in the submission portal

Application Requirements

Along with information about the session organizer and any speakers who be presenting the session at GWI 2024, applicants will need to provide the following information about their proposed session: 

  1. Session Title

  2. Session Descriptions

  3. Intended Audience 
    • Secondary, postsecondary, CBO, IEC, international, or other  
  4. Content Level  
    • Entry-level, Intermediate, or Advanced 
  5. Learning Objectives 
    • Must provide three clear learning objectives 
    • At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be better able to…” 
  6. Education Content Strands  
    • Select the three strands that are most relevant to the proposed session

  7. CE Eligibility 
    • If your primary target audience includes secondary counselors, your proposed submission may be eligible for CE credits. 
  8. Previous Presentations of the Session (if applicable) 
    • Please let us know if you have presented your submission previously including when and where 

What We Encourage

For all GWI proposal submissions, we encourage: 

  • Intersectional session topics 
  • Collaborative strategies on equity in college access 
  • More than one institution being represented 
    • Representation from both public and private institutions

Proposal applications will only be accepted for breakout sessions (60 minutes).   

Notifications will be sent out on March 8thYou will also be able to check the status of your submission in the proposal submission portal. 

We do not limit the number of proposal submissions.  

No, accepted speakers must attend the GWI Conference in person in New Orleans.    

Yes, speakers will be responsible for their own registration (with a $50 discount), travel, and hotel accommodations.

No, Incomplete proposal submissions will not be reviewed Draft submissions can be edited until the deadline.
