2023 Call for Board Candidates
The 2023 call for candidates has concluded. Thank you to everyone who submitted an application.
Much more info to come!
Each year NACAC’s Nominating Committee is charged with putting forth a slate of highly qualified nominees for election to the NACAC Board of Directors. All NACAC voting members in good standing for five years may submit their name to the Nominating Committee to be considered for a position on the Board of Directors slate of nominees.
In 2023, there are four board positions to be filled: three board directors and the chair-elect of the board. All of those elected will serve through NACAC Conference 2026. The chair-elect will serve first in that role in 2023-2024, as chair in 2024-2025, and as past chair in 2025-2026. The following year, that individual will chair the Governance and Nominating Committee.
The NACAC Board of Directors works closely with NACAC staff, the Affiliate Presidents Council, Special Interest Groups, and other member segments to set the strategic course for our association. From personal experience, I can tell you that being part of the board is both challenging and immensely rewarding—a highlight of my professional career. Board service is a unique opportunity to serve the association, the profession, colleagues, and students.
If you are interested in submitting your name for consideration, please review the call for candidates information and complete all required application materials (application, biographical information, reference form). All documents are due Feb. 28 with the exception of the institutional support form, which is only required of candidates advancing to the interview round. That form is due March 17. All materials must be received by the committee by their posted deadlines. These materials are available on the NACAC website or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Board Service Webinar
For those who are considering whether to submit, the Nominating Committee held a webinar, Serving on the NACAC Board of Directors, on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Members of the Board and GNC discussed the role of the NACAC Board of Directors and the perks of applying for board service. The webinar is focused on the work of the board, the roles/responsibilities of board members, and provides a more detailed explanation on the process of submitting your name for candidacy.
This webinar is free to view online.
Please feel free to contact me or any member of the Nominating Committee at email@example.com with any questions you may have about the process or the responsibilities of board members.
