Arlington, VA (Dec. 16, 2016) — Earlier this month NDD United, of which NACAC is a member, issued a press release regarding the Fiscal Year 2017 Continuing Resolution, which will fund the government through April 28.
NDD United is an alliance of hundreds of national, state, and local organizations working to protect investments in core government functions that benefit all Americans.
The programs — known in the nation's capital as nondefense discretionary or “NDD” programs — include veterans affairs, medical and scientific research, education and job training, infrastructure, public safety and law enforcement, public health, environmental protection, housing and social services, and international relations.
“It is critical that when the 115th Congress convenes next month, lawmakers turn immediately to completing appropriations for the remainder of fiscal year 2017,” NDD leaders wrote in the press release. “Not only will this allow planning for efficient use of government funding and provide certainty to American people and businesses, it will allow Congress to turn to decisions about fiscal year 2018 funding.”
