Imagine Grant

An Imagine Grant is intended to provide assistance to individuals who might otherwise be unable to participate in professional development opportunities or implement a new innovative program. Projects and programs funded by an Imagine Grant should serve as models to the profession. The NACAC Affiliate Presidents Council appoints an Imagine Grant Committee to oversee the program.

In their own words...

The Imagine Grant has allowed us to continuously serve Iowa students through our annual Leading & Excelling, Academically & Professionally (L.E.A.P.) Conference. L.E.A.P.’s goal is to instill an academic state of mind that leads to the pursuit of higher education to achieve life-long rewards. During the free conference, students could choose from four session offerings, including professionalism, work ethic, and time management, as well as navigating academics as a first-generation student. - Jesus Lizarraga-Estrada

The Imagine Grant funded an innovative summer camp designed to offer access to education to outstanding students from Togolese communities. The camp helped these disadvantaged, high-achieving students learn how to overcome financial barriers and apprehensions about standardized tests. At the close of the camp, students conceptualized projects to help lower dropout rates and concerns about pursuing education. - Mabadjam Katawa

I attended my first NACAC National Conference through an Imagine Grant. As a public school counselor, it’s important to participate. Developing relationships with colleagues, meeting conference presenters, and visiting local institutions provided opportunities to learn about programs that could benefit and aid my students. I returned from the conference better equipped to serve them. - Katie Wood
