NACAC Offers Opportunity to Connect Atlantic City-area Students With Colleges Scheduled to Attend Canceled National College Fair

Cancelation of NACAC’s Atlantic City National College Fair, originally scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, because of Hurricane Sandy, created a missed opportunity for both students seeking postsecondary options and colleges interested in connecting with interested parents and students.

To assist students and institutions, NACAC is offering students who registered for the Atlantic City National College Fair the opportunity to connect with institutions that they are interested learning more about.

NACAC will send a survey on Thursday, Nov. 15  to Atlantic City-area students who registered to attend the fair, asking them to specify—from the list of registered exhibitors—the institutions from which they’d like to receive additional information.  The association also will contact area counselors asking them to follow up with students who may not have registered for the fair and urge them to register.

More than 220 institutions will be included in the survey. NACAC will deliver student information to institutions they designate periodically between now and Dec. 28. (The association will not share student information with any entity other than the selected colleges.)

“Knowing that such contacts are an important part of students’ college search and an important part of colleges' outreach efforts, we are pleased to provide both parties  with this opportunity.” said NCF Director Greg Ferguson. “We hope the service will assist students in their search and offer them some measure of convenience during this difficult time.”
