Annual Data Reports

This page includes a collection of annual reports issued by the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Census Bureau, and other organizations that summarize a variety of data on education topics, including participation on education; learner outcomes; student effort and educational progress; contexts of elementary, secondary and postsecondary education; college costs and financial aid; projections of enrollment and graduates; and educational attainment. 

Search Tools

Use the tools on this page to search for colleges, public and private secondary schools, and public school districts.  You can also search for figures and charts published by the U.S. Department of Education on a variety of education topics.

ED Data Express

An interactive Web site designed to increase the transparency of K-12 data collected by the US Department of Education. The site provides public access to high-value, state-level education data in a clear, easy-to-use manner.

NCES Data Lab

A new data tool provided by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) allows public access to data collected by NCES.  Users can generate tables and graphs or run more complex statistical analysis using a wide range of variables collected by NCES from studies including the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study, Baccalaureate and Beyond, Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study, and the National Survey of Postsecondary Faculty.

Other Data Extraction Tools

The tools on this page will allow you to download and analyze data collected by the U.S. Department of Education on secondary and postsecondary institutions and students through the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the Common Core of Data (CCD), and the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
