Special Interest Groups

NACAC Special Interest Groups are part of the association's continuing dual effort to provide a forum for discussion among members with similar interests and nurture the growing diversity within the association.

There currently are 28 NACAC Special Interest Groups that address member issues and concerns surrounding such topics as the Common Application, gay/lesbian/bisexual students, community college issues, African-American, Asian-American and Latino issues and private and public school counseling concerns.

To join the colleagues in an electronic discussion of professional issues, sign up now for one of the Special Interest Group E-lists, which are hosted by Topica. Once you subscribe to the e-list you will be connected to other counseling professionals who have interests similar to your own. NACAC leaders--the Executive Board and many state and regional ACAC leaders--and staff also are subscribed to the lists, which helps further ensure that your concerns will be heard at the highest levels of the association.

Please take a moment to subscribe to the lists and join in the professional discourse on your area of interest. These under-utilized forums provide a perfect opportunity to discuss the latest trends in your area of expertise and to connect with colleagues on a wide variety of topics.
