Directors

Nan Massingill Davis
Nan Davis has served as vice president for institutional enrollment at Austin College (TX) since 1999. She spent 10 years as dean of admissions and enrollment management at Loyola University in New Orleans (LA) and 16 years in admissions at Trinity University (TX).

As vice president, Davis is responsible for all aspects of services in the admission and financial aid areas, chairing the Enrollment Management Task Force, and providing general leadership in the area of retention. 

Originally from Texas, she received both Bachelor of Science and Master's of Education degrees from Trinity University (TX).  

Davis has held numerous leadership positions in the National, Great Plains, Southern, and Texas Associations for College Admission Counseling and The College Board. A past president of TACAC, she served 18 years as a member of the resident faculty for the TACAC/Rice Workshop on College Admission Counseling.  In addition, she has served as a member of the GPACAC Executive Board, SACAC Executive Board, TACAC Executive Board, and as a NACAC Assembly Delegate for both SACAC and TACAC.

She has served for four years as College Curriculum Coordinator for the TACAC Summer Institute for Secondary and College Admission Counselors, and a faculty member for the College Board/TACAC Admission Professional Empowerment Seminar. Currently, she serves as a member of  the College Board National College Scholarship Service Assembly Council, the College Board Southwest Regional Council, the Southwest Regional College Board SAT I Advisory Committee, and the TACAC Summer Institute Advisory Committee.

Nan has received several professional awards and recognitions including the You Make A Difference Award from The College Board, Southwestern Region Special Recognition Awards in 2007, the Founders’ Award from the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling in 2004 and the Loyola University President’s Council Coadjutor Optimus Award in 1994.

Debbie Stieffel
Debbie graduated from Loyola University (NO) with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree in Music. She completed her Master of Science in Educational Counseling at Loyola University as well.  Debbie began her career as a music teacher with students in piano, organ and voice.  She began her career in admissions at Loyola University in 1985 and served from 1999 through 2007 as dean of admissions and enrollment management.  Debbie is currently vice president for enrollment management at Susquehanna University (PA) where she is responsible for the implementation of a successful, competitive, national recruitment plan, a comprehensive financial aid and scholarship strategy, and for coordinating the retention initiative. 

Debbie has been a regular presenter at state and national conferences,  most recently at the 2007 NACAC annual conference in Austin Texas.  She also served as an executive board member for the National Catholic College Admission Association from 2002 – 2007, and on the SACAC executive board as chair of the legislative committee.  She has done consulting work for a variety of universities and also served as a faculty member for MECA, Management Experience in College Admissions for NACAC from 2003 - 2007.   

Debbie calls New Orleans ‘home’ and has two children, Michelle Jeannine, a May 2008 graduate of Loyola’s College of Law, and Emile Laurent, a graduating senior at De La Salle High School (NO).
