Faculty:
Dr. Steve Antonoff is a former Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and Dean of Students at the University of Denver. He has been in private practice as an educational consultant in Denver for more than 25 years. Steve has served as President of the Board of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, the IECA Foundation and the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners. He has been a faculty member of IECA’s Summer Training Institute for 13 years and teaches educational consulting classes through UCLA Extension. He has served on numerous NACAC panels and task forces. He is the author of “College Match” and “The College Finder.”
Charlotte Klaar has been an educational consultant for more than 15 years. She has been an active leader in IECA, serving as director of the Summer Training Institute, chair of the Education and Training Committee and now a member of the Association’s Board of Directors. She has been on the faculty of this training program and IECA’s Summer Training Institute for more than 10 years. A former teacher, Charlotte is a member of NACAC and IECA.
Barbara Pasalis is the principal of Northcoast Educational Consulting in Cleveland Ohio, opening her practice in 2003. She assists students in their college search, summer planning and career exploration. She has served in several leadership roles for the Ohio ACAC and has presented on ways in which school-based counselors and educational consultants can and should work together more closely. She is an active member of NACAC and IECA.
Mark Sklarow is the Executive Director of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, a position he has held for 15 years. Prior to this he taught Political Science at the college level and served as a secondary school administrator. During this time he was director of student councils for Philadelphia, ran statewide student leadership programs and has been director or acting director of Presidential Classroom, Creative Response and City at Peace. Mark is a regular presenter for IECA and at NACAC meetings and training programs.
