The House Appropriations Committee introduced HR 1105 on February 23 2009, an omnibus appropriations bill for FY 09. The continuing resolution (CR) that is currently funding the government will expire on March 6, 2009.
The chart below shows how NACAC recommendations for FY 2009 compare with appropriations from the previous years, and Congressional action to date (HR 1105). Those marked with a star (*) were developed in concert with the Student Aid Alliance.
Funds for the Pell Grant maximum and Work Study in the "FY 09 Congress" column reflect funds approved for those programs under HR 1, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Visit NACAC's page on the economic stimulus for more information on that legislation.
