On Thursday, the
Senate Appropriations Committee passed its FY 2010
Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related agencies (Labor, HHS, Education) spending bill. The Committee notes in its
news release that the draft
was greatly influenced by the recent passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (economic stimulus), which appropriated almost $100 billion for the Department of Education. Most education programs included in the bill are flat funded.
The Senate Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations Subcommittee is expected to file its official bill and report today. Once appropriations for each program are available, NACAC will update the appropriations chart with the FY 10 Senate Proposal.
