Congratulations on being accepted to participate in NACAC’s Families, Counselors and Communities Together early college awareness program that will be offered January 30, 2010, at the University of Richmond.

The daylong workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Gottwald Auditorium on the University of Richmond campus. The workshop schedule and roster of participants are attached for your information.

Gottwald Auditorium, where the morning session will be held, is in the Gottwald Center for the Sciences, building #35, on the campus map.  Please use the parking lot closest to the Gottwald Center (#34 and #35) on the parking map Campus Maps - University of Richmond.  There are limited visitor parking spaces but participants who are driving can obtain a one-day parking pass by visiting this link on the university Web site: Faculty & Staff Vehicle Registration Form - Visitor Pass.  Complete the online form and a parking pass will be mailed to you. With this pass there should be no problem with parking in any of the spaces in either lot.

(You can print directions to campus and the campus map directly from the University of Richmond Web site.)

As you know, during the workshop, you will receive:

  • FCCT and Step-by-Step training materials

  • Reimbursement for travel to the University of Richmond (mileage and parking)
  • Meals during training
  • .5 CEUs

You also will be required to conduct two workshops in your community or school by June 1, 2010, for at least 40 students and parents—with the same audience required to attend both workshops. Upon completion, you’ll be reimbursed for outreach training workshop expenses (up to $330) and will receive a $300 honorarium.

Congratulations again on your selection for the workshop! Please do not hesitate to contact me at 703/299-6803 or sivory@nacacnet.org if you have questions or need more information.   If I am unavailable, you may also contact Maura Artman with questions at 703/299-6845 or martman@nacacnet.org.

I look forward to meeting you in January.

Sincerely,

Shanda T. Ivory
NACAC Director of Communications
