Scope of Responsibilities:
The Co-Director of College Guidance assists with the daily operations of the College Guidance program, including programs to assist and educate students and parents about the college application process, developing relationships with colleges and universities and creation and submission of school materials in support of the college applications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
College Visitations / Applications:
- Create and execute educational programs and materials for parents and students pertaining to the college application process, including written materials and letters, workshops or seminars, individual meetings.
- Follow the established process for the compilation and mailing of college application packets, including school letters of recommendation, faculty letters of recommendation, forms, essays and other required parts.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of a fall calendar of college representative visits to Ranney School.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and publication of the College Workbook.
- Assist in the planning, implementation of the Junior Class Planning for College Workshop
- Work closely with the English department faculty on gaining assistance in working with juniors in the spring on the development of the long and short college essay.
- Assist in the supervision of standardized testing programs and administration in the Upper School - Princeton Review, PSAT administration and non-standard administration of SAT I, SAT II and AP as applicable.
Student Scheduling / Technology:
Work with the Upper School Head and other members of the Upper School administrative team on issues and projects, particularly as they relate to the college process.
Assist in the processing and training of advisors and other members of the administration in issues related to course offerings and student schedules
Gain a working knowledge of the Blackbaud network for registrars. Have the understanding to print schedules, transcripts, and GPA information as needed.
Work with Tcci / Naviance Application software to create college lists, generate reports, and import and export data as needed
Professional Development:
Maintain affiliations with professional organizations in support of College Office functions (NACAC, NJACAC, NAIS, NJAIS) and attend relevant conferences.
At least once yearly submit a conference proposal for presentation.
Create and execute professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance their role in supporting the functions of the College Office i.e.: letters of recommendation, scheduling, course placement.
Publications & Events
Assist in the planning and execution of activities related to seniors and the academic program, such as Honors Convocation, Senior Dinner, Graduation.
Create resources to inform students in all Upper School grade levels about summer programs, college visit, scheduling, etc.
Develop a plan for the publication "College News 101" to be published four times a year with timely and appropriate information.

Attend Upper School functions as needed:
- Back to school nights
- Admissions Open Houses
- Princeton Review coverage
- PTAC meetings
- Other events as requested
Other duties as assigned by the administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is preferred.
One year of experience in a college admissions or high school counseling setting is required.
Excellent public speaking, interviewing, advising, written correspondence and publication development skills are required.
Experience with computer applications, including word processing and presentation programs, is required.
