Alexandria, VA (October 1, 2007) -- Bill McClintick, director of college counseling at Mercersburg Academy (PA), was voted president-elect of the Board of Directors of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) at its 63rd National Conference last week in Austin, TX.
As president-elect, McClintick, who will serve a three-year term, will lead the organization of more than 10,000 secondary school counselors, independent counselors, college admission and financial aid officers, enrollment managers, and organizations that work with students as they make the transition from high school to postsecondary education.
McClintick is a long-standing member of NACAC, serving more than 25 years in a variety of capacities, including chair of the Steering Committee on Admission Standards (2003-2006); member, of the State and Regional Presidents’ Council (2003-2005); member of the Governance and Nominating Committee (2001-2003); chair of the Joint Task Force on Issues in Financial Aid (1996-1997); and vice president for admission practices (NACAC Executive Board, 1995-1997)
NACAC also elected three new members to its board of directors. They include:
Richard P. Alvarez, university director of admission, The City University of New York; John Boshoven, counselor for continuing education, Community High School, MI; and Scott Hooker, college advisor, Allendale Columbia School, NY.
Terry Knaus, associate director of admission at Indiana University, was previously elected president of the NACAC State and Regional President’s Council, which represents the association’s 23 state and regional affiliates.
